My green beans have been up a couple of weeks but the first proper leaves are tinged with yellow or in some cases completely yellow, and no further leaves have appeared   The pinto beans are just coming up in the next bit and it's hard to see if they're going to be the same but my sweetcorn down the same bed also appear not to be thriving..

I assumed the weather/wind was to blame, or lack of water - can't do much about the former but I have been watering more with the sprinkler on and the weather seems better today with forecast for more tomorrow..

The other possibility I wondered about is whether there is too much manure in the soil of that bed - it's where the load (2-3yo so well rotted!) was left by the JCB and I raked it down that bed and lifted off what I needed for other beds, leaving a small heap at one end to top up tattie bags, but would it be too rich and discolour the leaves?  I have always had good green beans, to the point of overproduction and they do like fed but have I just put them somewhere too good for them? 

Any thoughts welcome, there isn't much else I can think of to do but hope someone can keep me right

Could be overwatering, could also be a deficiency - try giving them a feed (it will supply them with any nutrient that is missing where they are planted).

If it's hot where you are and you are watering in full sun and the water gets on the leaves, it could also be that.

funny that you should write this, as i have put a post on about our runners with more or less the same problem!!!
when you say green do you mean runners?

i read the replys to yours and i have to say i dont think its watering when its sunny causing yellowing.
i think its got to be red hot for this to happen, anyway , hope your beans get better for you.

Yes runner beans - some are still green, some are yellow and some are mixed within the same tripod.

Will go have a look at your other thread - I'm away this weekend so they won't be watered for a couple of days but I don't think I'm overwatering and the soil is so rich with manure I didn't think they could be short of anything, just goes to show

my onions are like this, some of the leaves are yellow at the tip and some are more so, they has some blood fish and bone meal in the soil and some chicken manure, but maybe the lack of water, they have not had enough really, some are growing well but others are still very small.

I grew from seed so I do not know if they will grow enough for me to have a decent sized onion crop, will wait and see.
