Night Out
« on: May 22, 2011, 07:59:57 pm »
Last night we went to His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen to see Thriller Live. Packed house and it was very good. Rather than travel back home late at night we had booked into the Travel Lodge on Union Street what an eye opener that was. On getting back to our room just after 11pm we were both worn out and went to bed, so far so good. From around 1am all hell seem to break lose. Shouting, swearing, screaming from both inside and outside. This went on till just after 3am. it was like a pack of wild animals on the rampage. I was very shocked but then it years since I have been in Aberdeen late at night. Do not even go in to shop anymore as i prefer Elgin or Inverness. Union Street looks so run down with empty buildings. so much for being the Oil City.  :o

A whole night out.  Sounds like heaven.  Especially if you didnt have to cook as well.

I've been away fromt ehA berdeen are for three years now, but was born and brought up right in teh centre of teh city - well not literally, ina  nursing home then my Mum adn DAd's house lol.  From when my kids left home (aged 17) about 20 years ago, I have never been near Union Street after 6pm at night - I just wouldn't take the chnce.  It is a sad enditement of a city I loved.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

What a shame you had to suffer that on your night away.  Sadly,  its now a common occurance in most towns and cities.  I don't think I would feel safe in any town in the evenings any more.
