The new girls

have been here a week, and settled in nicely.  Been out enjoying the nice warm sunshine.

Gorgeous girls you have there! Those toggles, what if anything is their purpose. Billy has toggles, Toby doesnt, even though they are brothers. I'd have thought that they'd both have them.

My 9 yr old asked that question at a recent goat club meeting. she was told that they serve no purpose and for showing reasons, some breeders/keepers do put constriction bands on so they drop off  :goat:

They look like they have actually stood still for you to take that photo Roxy! How old are they?



Re Toggles- I thought generally restricting bands are only put on if i) it's a breed that shouldn't have toggles (ie Anglo-Nubians, or Golden Guernseys) or ii) if the toggles were in a different location that might prove to be problematic- like hanging of the side of the face or the ear.

Ballingirl - I was surprised they stood for the photo - maybe they were enjoying the sun.
