what size hose connector for my water butt tank?
« on: April 20, 2011, 09:55:09 pm »
Anyone know what size of hose connector I would need to attach to my water tank so I can use a hose from it, and what kind of pump would I need to give it decent pressure?

Its a 1000 litre one like this;

Appreciate any help.

depends on what size your hose is :-)

if you got to fit the tap etc yourself and its a normal hose a tap with 3/4inch BSP is what most screw on hose fixings connect too.

as for pressure thats to do with many things how is the tank being filled can you get sufficient height off the ground to let gravity do the work for you or is a pump the only option?

Get thee to Screwfix. A dirty water pump and small bore domestic hose, with that you can start your own fire brigade. I use 250 gallon juice containers filled from the barn roof. I move them on tractor forks to where I want then squirt using a small genny and pump. then back to the barn.
Evil bays fine but shop around for boxes of bits at car booties and shows, gets you off yer backside instead of glaring at screens......... :wave:
