sheep bloating up
« on: April 19, 2011, 08:56:26 pm »
Just moved my small flock onto some recently reseeded and fertilised land. My FiL told me a doom story about some sheep he had bloating up on lush grass and snuffing it over night! Should I be worried? After all they have been having 'spring grass' for the last few weeks

Just keep an eye on them.
Treatment for bloat is 80ml of olive oil down the neck (breaks down the bubbles and allows the gas to come out of both ends!) but hopefully you won't need it.
