dissappearing eggs with broody hen ??

Some advise please,

i have a broody hen at the moment sitting on some eggs and she was sitting on 9 and went to shoo her off yesterday to drink feed and toilet and there was 6 ????

any ideas ??

are thwy the unfertilized ones or what ??

1st time this has happened to me !!

Well i have cut back and i still have to many !!!! Oh well just as well i love them !!

Rats or crows/magpies.  Make sure she is totally barricaded in or you'll lose the lot.

one of mine ate hers after the first hatched >:( she wanted an only child  ;) we kept her in isolation until she started laying again and gave her mustard eggs to cure the habit. thank heavens it worked. :chook: :&>
