Gate Theft - West Scotland
« on: April 01, 2011, 08:43:16 pm »
Over at our feed suppliers today - we received a warning that in the North Ayrshire/Inverclyde/Renfrewshire area there is currently a spate of aluminium farm gates being lifted off their posts - leaving livestock to wander the roads  >:(

The thieves are not just stealing gates, apparently anything metal - machinery, guttering is being taken  :o

Get your padlocks out folks !!!

There's alot of money in scrap metal right now. I guess we should all be on our guard.

That reminds me of an incedent when my youngest daughter was a local radio presenter with her best friend who was head boy at the time, I tuned in and they brought the local news saying, " there has been a spate of door bell thiefts" then added the police are making door to door enquiries and they laughed uncontrolably and so did I, the whole studio went quiet...it was very funny at the time!!

What about "accidentally" attaching the energiser to the gate - oops  :D

or

Self destructing gates that detonate when lifted off their hinges  ;D
