Hello everyone, is there a stand /area where smallholders meet up - getting to know so many of you kindred spirits out there it would be great to meet - or is there a smallholders meet set up somewhere/sometime that I'm not aware of?  Most grateful....

Central Scotland Smallholders if you are near enough for the RHS  ::) ;D ;D  www.smallholders/info - £10 a year and we have a lot of outings and meetings planned this year thanks to Rosemary who is on our Committee.  I am Treasurer, Carol(Ayeskint) is Secretary,  Stuart (Moregin) is Chair.

We had a meet up at last year's RHS.  I believe the entry forms are out - entries close May sometime, and if you enter something you get in free (saving £15!)

See you there (I get in cheaper as an OAP  ;) ;D)

Someone once said, 'you don't get if you don't ask' - glad I asked, I'll get on to it now.  Many thanks!  :-* :-*

RHS entries for animals close about 7th April. Entries can be done online with a very easy-to-use form

I never did make the meeting there last year although several people dropped by my Hebridean sheep pens for a chat - either OH or I will always be around.  We need to arrange an easy meeting place to find and to be able to identify eachother- but not on Friday as it's Hebby SHOW TIME  :o  :sheep:

There will be a Scottish Pig Keepers / RBST stand at the Highland this year (I know cos I'll be on it  ;)) It would be great if everyone came along and said Hi  ;D

Alternatively Goosepimple (and anyone else who wants to come ;)), there's a SPKA BBQ and showing workshop in Avonbridge on Sunday 17th April, even if you don't have pigs you're more than welcome to come along and see some of the hilarity and join in  ;D
More details here http://www.scottishpigs.co.uk/upcomingevents.htm

You'll usually find Lillian, Robert & myself at Lanark's poultry and pig sales every 2 months as well, next one's not til May now - but maybe see you there  ;D

Did Ian Simpson of RBST Caledonian Support Group get in touch, Lillian or Karen? I suggested that he did, re stand sharing between SPKA and RBST Caledonian.

Hello,

I am currently in derbyshire/nottinghamshire but we are looking for property+ land in Scotland as we speak. Would it be ok if we popped along too? It would be lovely to meet like-minded folk.

Same here McRennet - the more the merrier  ;D
And everyone is welcome to join the SPKA (pig keeper or not) no matter where you are  ;D ;D ;D (sorry, shameless plug to up our membership :o)

Sorry Lillian, I just assummed we could do a bit of 'promotion' for SPKA while we were there  :-[ But I suppose it's true what they say - "To assume makes an ass of u and me" lol! There's nothing to stop me wearing, say, an SPKA hat or something though eh ? ;D

Rosemary, I've not heard from Ian yet, but have been kinda getting messages relayed via Ruth and Fleecewife. I'm sure I'll meet up with him sometime, somewhere this summer  ;)

Great, thanks everyone, I'm going to have an I'M GOOSEPIMPLE t shirt made, so watch out!  Thanks!
I'm easy to spot - big, tall, plump (being generous ;)) lady (some say that's questionable :o) with looooong hair and spex, I'll be the one talking non-stop and grinning like a nutter (don't get out much ;))

Oh that is good news!

Being new to all this I had to google SCCA in order to educate myself. If you have a moment spare and fancy a giggle, I can highly recommend doing it!

However, that sounds great. I'm really looking forward to meeting you!

Kind Regards, McRennet

Sorry, SCCA just comes up with the Surrey County Chess Association. I think you may have meant SPKA, which is of course the Scottish Power Kite Association.

Phew! Glad to have cleared that one up! Of course I know that pigs can fly, but I hadn't even considered that pigs might also fly kites!  ;D
