Hi i have a white indian runner, "mavis", she is lovely.

I also have an aylesbury, " matilda".

And picked up 3 karki campbells yesterday a drake and 2 females.

They are addictive, good luck with yours,

My new females laid me 2 eggs this morning, which was a nice surprise, and they were yummy ;D

I have some Indian runners and they are just now laying well. Mine are 2 x Apricot, trout, black and chocolate. They are more nervous than my 'normal' ducks but very funny and cleaner than my slarty Aylesburies and Swedish lot. Watch the lone female though as she will be plagued by the advances of two males. We are culling some males any time now as the balance male to female is out. Good luck with them

Thank you for your replies!

I have been told they have lived together for 2 years, and he didn't want them seperated so I guess we will have to see how they go, but I will keep that in mind Hermit.

Your all sound lovely, I really can't wait.

Yes I will do Little Blue!! :)

I have one, black one called (surprie surprise) duckie, who layed her first egg today  ;D and two KC x runner ducks which are sort of purple coloured,  and the drake has a dark grey head.

Love watching them guddle around, though they do  make one hell of a mess and a smell in winter  ::)

CameronS  welldone on the eggy and love the name!!!  ;D

Well I got them today and I must say I can see why he wanted tem to stay together as they are a lovely little threesome!!!

We also had an accident (well almost) on our first day! the Lady got stuck between the shed and Wendy house in a frenzy as she was trying to go through it in a panic to move from me  ::)... I nearly cried I was soo worried as she just sat still and didn't move  :'( so I got OH and he moved the shed over and got her out!  ;D the whole time this was happening the two boys where running about everywhere shouting very loud as if they were saying "help!" it was such a  cute thing!!

We checked her over and she seemed fine and went back to her men and they had a nibble on her neck it was sooo sweet!

The chickens however are not impressed at all!!! clucking and making a racket, while the other tried to peck at them through the mesh (the head chuck  ::)) so I am going to leave it a few more days before the 'supervised' visit goes ahead  ;)

Getting these ducks were very last minute (ad on preloved and only looked due to having a dream about getting ducks!) the bloke wanted them all to go together and I just couldn't believe know one did! he said he had phone calls for them to be split but he said no.. I am so glad I did!

They are living in the Wendy house until I get suitable housing (it isn't used anymore) and I will do them a run for when I pop out.. otherwise they have all the lower garden and have far more room than they did before... they seemed so happy!  ;D

Here they are :)

are yours as vocal as mine in the morning?
i had my first ever complaint today  :-\  the ducks are to noisy when they are let out, and Carry on the commotion for about 20Min's.

Not that this neighbour is i any power above me, they moved in here from a city, and the ducks were here first. in my eyes they can like it or bloody lump it

They do have a little 'babble' but its not too bad to be honest. They make less noise than the dog next door and less than the traffic near by!

If the moved in after (not that they could say anything anyway!) then who the hell are they?! id encourage more quacking  :D

Aww I would love to hatch some this spring, I am looking into it now. Its all quite exciting!!

I got an egg this morning too, was quite shocked due to their move and that she got stuck yesterday, so she must be happy  ;)

A trio is supposed to be a male and two females not the other way round - as far as I know anyway, and it makes sense to me.  I think you may need to get more females for  your boys ::) ;D  Great excuse to have more too. ;D  I have a Swedish Blue Drake, a Khaki Campbell, female and hatched out three of their children in September - fortunately they all seem to be girls by their voices, so hopefully they will start to lay soon.  I love my ducks, the second I open the front door they start to shout for their breakfast, and I agree with you Cameron about yours.  Unfortunately my neighbours were here before me but everyone is kept happy with eggs!
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
