Daffy Duck: thin & dopey
« on: February 24, 2011, 08:19:20 pm »

this is Daffy ..... she has, as you can see, a twisted beak, like a smile.  she has always been a loner but never struggled with the beak.

however, she is now looking thin and has got quite muddy and is reluctant to swim.
we "dipped" her to get the mud off and clean her beak, her feathers seem oily enough.
she retreats to the house & is wanting to stay lying in the corner.

any suggestions as to what I could tempt her to eat?
they have pellets, corn & mixed flakes, and grass, hay & greens.
Ive threatened her with antibiotics....  they were wormed before Christmas.

Is she breathing OK?  Sounds like she is ill but I have no idea what it might be.  ABs could be the answer but they'd have to be wide spectrum unless you can pinpoint exactly what it is, and they may not work quickly because of that.  So the sooner she's on them the better.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
