Hello from South Wales

Hello all,

My name's John, I live in Newport, South East Wales. I've been a lurker here for quite some time, soaking up knowledge. I've not posted much at all until now as I have never been close to having my own smallholding.

I'm good friends with Hellybee & Bazzais, on this forum and am hoping to buy a smallholding in West Wales in the near future *just as soon as we sell our current house*.

I currently have 12 chickens: 8 Rhode Island Red hens for laying.
For meat, we also have 3 Light Sussex cockerals and a (supposedly light sussex hen). These came as hatching eggs and one hatched out ginger and a bit bigger than the others. The others soon overtook the red one in size. It has the same shape as the other light sussex (apart from very small comb and its ginger!). We believe it's either a buff sussex or a RIR cross.

I'll put some photos up for you to make your own minds up.

That's it in the way of animals, as we live in a city. We also have several apple trees, pear tree, cherry tree, many fruit bushes: raspberry/blackberry/gojiberry/blackcurrant/redcurrant/fig, we are running out of space, fast!

So Hi!

John
