Hi all,

I have an old yoghurt maker but have lost the yoghurt pots to go with it. they are the small ones...that had lids too.

Any ideas where I may get replacements.....or what I could use as replacments. Tried e-bay, amazon....and trawling the net.
BTW the yoghurt maker is an old mellerware one....I am trying it with plastic cups but they dont have lids, so I am not sure how successful it will be.

I have a similar one - my pots are glass with white plastic lids. The yoghurt maker has a clear plastic lid that fits over the whole thing. I don't use the lids till the yoghurt is made. If yours doesn't have a cover you could probably put a clean tea towel over it instead.

Yes it has a lid to cover the whole batch and keep the temp correct, but each individual pot is supposed to have a lid too. I recon this model is 25 yrs old. OH has been using it as a warmer for seedlings for the last few years... I dont really want to buy another one....just taken a notion for homemade yoghurt.

Due to it's age I think you would be better off just chucking it and buying a newer model. They don't cost very much and can be found secondhand via 'that' auction site or boot sales etc.

If you get a new (or new-to-U) one get one which has only one large (usually 1ltr) pot. Much less washing up! And it is not so easy to loose any lids/pots etc.

I may well just get a new one...this one can be returned to the garden side if things so its not a complete waste!!
