I am looking for a new loving home for a 24 week old rhode island red cockeral. We have 2 other cockerals so its getting too noisey now, and its a case of last in first out. £10.00  (I am in nottingham.)

By the amount of people seemingly unable to get rid of cockerels I'd say you need to pay someone to take them, never mind trying to sell them. Have you considered the oven?

where we are, the local travellers pick up on any 'cockerel free to good home' signs and collect the tame cockerels to use as bait to train up their fighting birds.  I think putting a price on would hopefully deter this somewhat.  and yes oven or dispatch is a much more preferable option than what 'might' happen  :(
good luck homing your birds donna

Hi,

I want the cockeral as I have 2 POL chickens and no cockeral - would be interested in the chickens depending on their age. Am wanting to meet as Goole to Notts is a long way.

I agree Plums,

I have a couple of 13 week old birds that are now clearly cockerels and intend to dispatch them soon. Mine are not pure breeds and so are unlikely to find a home.  I wouldnt mind giving them to someone that I knew if they wanted to fatten them up and eat them but I fear that they would end up being used for some other purpose and suffer as a result.

Its always worth a free post to try and find a home I suppose as someone like Cuckoo may respond.

that obviously depends, hughesy...
I rehomed one of mine successfully on here and he has an even better life than at my place (more girls  ;D). Don't discourage people from trying to sell, that's up to them and it looks quite promising for donna's boym, doesn't it?  :&>
