Hello from Kinlochbervie
« on: January 10, 2011, 12:14:20 pm »

Just thought I'd say 'Hi!'

We're based in Kinlochbervie which is in the far north western corner of Scotland. At the moment we have just half an acre but am considering applying for some croft land.

We have half a dozen hens (mixed breeds) and have just added three Kune Kune pigs to our micro-holding.

Thanks for the friendly welcome, people.

I forgot to mention that I also run a small IT business and will be letting our large static caravan for holiday lets this year. Gotta diversify! :)

I've setup a webcam so people can see our pigs and hens. It's on http://www.harbourcottageklb.co.uk

Hi Floyd, what birds are you planning on farming? I was thinking of getting some turkeys in later this year, for fattening up for Christmas.

Have all the posts been intercepted by a virus?  What are all the, seemingly, unassociated links in many of them today?

Am hoping to raise hubbard and Sasso to go with my Ixworths.  Raised 3 turkeys last year so will probably raise this to about 15. Am rather fond of the idea of Guinea Fowl also may some Geese in the future.  Fancy a couple of Rheas running around the place once all the fencing is complete.

I think its great that someone from KLB is on the map, it may be worth a visit after all. We had given up on the placet since the Seamans Mission closed. Our family still have a place a couple of miles from you. Good luck with the livestock, we are hoping to do pretty much the same but at the other end of the country!
