Hello there
« on: January 05, 2011, 06:52:20 pm »
Hi
My name is Jacqui and my dh and I are very new crofters on the Western Isles. We have a 4 year old son.  We have just been given approval from the crofters commission for our 2 acre croft.  We have 2 sheep and a few hens.  Very exciting venture, but apart from several years gardening, we have no real farming experience.  The local community are really helpful,.  I found this forum while searching for some spinning advice. Looking forward to a good browse around.

Hello!  And welcome to the site.  I purchased my first spinning wheel a couple of months ago - still need to master how to use it properly though, just need a bit more time and a lot more patience!!!!  Hope all goes well with your new venture.

Welcome BFCrofter.

Am sure you'll find this site useful - good luck with your venture. Lovely part of the world are you on the out islands?? Used to sail up that way a few years ago.

Keep warm

hello - thank you all for such a warm welcome :)
We live on the Isle of Lewis, although we are visiting family in West lothian for a couple of weeks.  Apparently it is snowing on lewis tonight, but, still, I really miss it and can't wait until we are back.
Lovely site.
