Pig Keeping Course

Come and join us for a day  with the pigs!


Veterinary taught pig health and husbandry training.


Spend the day with us on our well established smallholding, and learn all about caring for pigs.


Covering:
 :pig: legislation, paperwork, movement licenses
 :pig: Housing and fencing
 :pig: Feeding pigs - keeping costs under control, growing your own feeds
 :pig: Health - preventing problems, planning worming and vaccinations.  Dealing with common conditions.
 :pig: Breeding - using a boar or AI
 :pig: Farrowing and care of newborn piglets
 :pig:  Producing pork - dealing with abattoir and butchery.


All of this in a fun, friendly setting.  Delicious home cooked lunch provided.  Comprehensive course book containing all the information taught during the day.
