Spend the day with us on our well established smallholding, and learn all about caring for pigs.
Covering:
legislation, paperwork, movement licenses
Housing and fencing
Feeding pigs - keeping costs under control, growing your own feeds
Health - preventing problems, planning worming and vaccinations. Dealing with common conditions.
Breeding - using a boar or AI
Farrowing and care of newborn piglets
Producing pork - dealing with abattoir and butchery.
All of this in a fun, friendly setting. Delicious home cooked lunch provided. Comprehensive course book containing all the information taught during the day.
