Cattle ear tag
« on: January 08, 2024, 10:03:37 am »
Hi there. I am hoping someone can help me. I live on site of an old dairy farm and have found a cattle ear tag. I’m not sure if it’s from the old farm if just a modern day one that’s fell out of a straw bale from the the horses. I’ve looked online and it says tags should have a six digits animal code but this one only has 5 digit which makes me wonder if it’s an old one. Photo attached.  It reads: uk (crown symbol) k5632 o1381
Any ideas much appreciated! Thank you

It's a UK tag, and the format is pre-2000.
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
