Working sheepdog for sale. £900.

Laddie is a 2 year old registered border collie. He has been trained on sheep but will work cattle as well.
I bought him a few months ago because having obtained grazing on some land that floods periodically, I wanted the ability to get the cattle off quickly if necessary.
I have used him on my sheep, and a few cattle in a small field but never on the river bank for the entire herd. However last week, when gathering for TB testing, the entire herd followed me to the holding area when I called them, and I realised that was a better way of herding them rather than forcing them with a dog. So in a way he is redundant, and has been replaced by a bag of carrots and a few bread buns.

However he is a lovely dog. Very responsive, lovely natured with people and other dogs, house trained, but happy in a kennel, so can live in or out.
I would be happy to keep him, as he's useful with the few sheep I have, and is just a nice dog to have around. BUT he tries to kill my peafowl. It may sound illogical to rehome a good dog because he upsets the birds. But I've had them for many years, they live in my large garden and my other collie just stalks them till they fly off in disgust and return later. Laddie, however goes in for the kill and the lawn is littered with the feathers of those that only just got away.  :relief:

SO - I live in East Yorkshire, just north of Doncaster, easily accessible by motorways both North - South and East - West.  I actually travelled 80 miles each way to get him and he was great in the car. So travels well. As said, he is registered, and I'm wanting £900 for him.
A good home is essential, as he is a very sociable dog and I don't like to think of him caged up or in a shed all day when not working.
