Shelter on agricultural land
« on: July 23, 2023, 11:30:43 pm »
Good evening all.

I've inherited around about 40 acres of land. The land is currently rented out to local farmers.

Unfortunately, I live over an hour away from the land, so when visiting, I need to be resourceful with my time, carrying out as much maintenance as I can in one go.

The land has no barns / structures or buildings of any kind. This proves difficult because

a) I have nowhere to store tools or  vehicles e.g. a quad bike /small tractor

b) There is no shelter from the weather

I've been looking at a small site office or shipping container as a solution.

Can anyone shed any light on what I could put on the land? I will speak to planning to see what they say, but thought I'd pick some brains first :)

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like what you want would be covered by "permitted development".
