There's the Shawlands Roadhouse, it's on the M74 heading South (about 20 miles outside Glasgow) http://www.shawlandsparkhotel.co.uk/index.html The website makes it look really expensive, but I don't think it's that bad - plenty parking though ! There's also a travel inn or premier lodge at Strathclyde Park/ Raith interchange, again on M74 south bound, but closer to Glasow. Think you might struggle to actually get anywhere in town with parking for a big van ???
IF you're feeling brave (and fairly stable mentally ;)) you're more than welcome to come and stay here for the night. It'll mean putting up with 4 mad kids and us  ;D but it would be free ! We're about 10 minutes off the M74 at Junction 10 for Lesmahagow - just let me know.
Take care, Karen

that is an amazing offer karen are you sure you wouldnt mind putting me up for the night im happy to pay my way.it all depends how the weather is tbh i have to go to caladonian cheese co. in stranraer for 2 pallets then round to scottish milk in campbeltown for 1 pallet.i think its 11 hrs 15 mins thats not allowing time to fill up and  unload so i can imagine it be a good 12-13 hrs trip. how is the weather up that way im looking about as i stayed in a travel lodge in east kilbride few yrs back so im trying to remember where  it was. lol

East Kilbride is about halfway between Glasgow and me. The weather's okay at the moment, very cold and there is snow on the ground and a little forecast for tomorrow, but think it's Thursday before it's really to hit - but what do the forecasters know  ::) I'll keep you updated ! Just gimmie a shout if you want directions.

It's FREEZING out there (well, actually well below freezing !) We're never usually in bed before midnight, so if you change your mind about the van just give me a phone - it's really no problem
