Hi, yet another new member with a French Connection
« on: November 12, 2008, 03:36:23 pm »
We live in SW France about 45 mins from the Pyrenees. I have just spent a whole afternoon reading stuff from the TAS website. When I should have been working (I'll call it research) Great site, loads of info.

At the moment we have been busy with the house, but now feel we can spread to a few animals. Looking at keeping Chickens, Ducks, Turkeys and Pigs and Goats. So far have 2 cats and a dog.

Watch out for future posts when we shall be pleading for help!!

First steps?  You could start the heavy digging work now, or you could beg, buy, borrow or steal a couple of tamworths to do the clearing for you.  Then kill the pigs, rotivate the veg plot.  Put the chickens on the rotivated ground to scratch up and clear for you.  Then invest in the best sun lounger you can afford, because by now the summer will be here its far too late to do any gardening, but you can read all the books, watch the weeds grow and whilst reading all the really interesting gardening books you can indulge in home grown bacon and free range eggs.
