Coming soon
« on: September 04, 2022, 08:04:07 pm »
I posted in December last year about fencing for some Dexters I wanted to get. Well, life and having to work, got in the way but the fencing eventually got done in June. I'm finishing off the field shelter now and will be taking delivery in 2 weeks time of two red Dexter cows, both with black calves at foot.

I'm very excited, although a little 'nervous', but I think I'm there. Fencing done, water done, shelter mostly done, loads of hay and haylage in, CPH sorted and registered with APHA. I'll contact BCMS tomorrow.

What might I have missed?

Cheers
Barry

Access to the field shelter will probably become horribly poached in the wet winter weather, so you might want to consider pre-empting that problem with some mud mats from Mudcontrol.
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

Well I've had them a week now and they have settled in nicely. Coming to the bucket and are getting used to me. I've tried to attach an image but not sure if it will work.
Cheers
