Hello!

I feel like this is a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway...

Vaccinator / drench guns for sheep (that can also be used for goats).

They come in different sizes, which is what's confusing me. Vaccinator guns seem to come in either 2ml or 5ml / 6ml sizes, and drench guns in 10ml or 20ml. I'm assuming this is the largest 'amount' they can take. So my question is, am I better going for a 2ml one (that can dose from 0.1ml to 2ml) or a 6ml one (that doses 0.25ml to 6ml). Or one 2ml and one 6ml...? And same question for drench guns - 10ml or 20ml?

And if anyone would like to recommend me vaccinator / drench guns, please do so (because I'm assuming they're all 'much of a muchness' but realistically have no idea...!)

Most sheep vaccines are 1 or 2ml. Mine is a 2ml injector, just be aware don’t buy anything with sterimatic system as it’s not being manufactured anymore (there maybe some residual old stock guns in the shops still).


As for drench guns, mine is 10ml- I get on fine with it, if I need to do any more than 10ml I just do 2 pumps (fluke drenches are normally 2ml per 10kg so 14-16ml per ewe, I do 2x 7 or 8ml pumps).
