Great news!!!
« on: December 01, 2010, 10:56:07 am »
I went to Glenfield hospital yesterday to the see lung oncology consultant J A Bennet and he said "YOU DO NOT HAVE CANCER."
I am free!!!

After 3 weeks of pure hell what with the X rays, CT scan with contrast (which burst the vein in my arm so Im bruised from wrist to elbow) Spirometry etc he also said "If I had seen those X Ray plates I wouldnt have even sent you for a CT scan" ??????

Who the hell did they send those X Rays to and who bloody decided to worry the hell out of me???

The upside is I lost 12 lbs in 3 weeks so Im carrying that on cos my stomach has shrunk

Oh and BTW what the 1cm soft tissue mass was was infection as I had bronchitis at the time, hence the breathlessness.

That's wonderful news Jackie !!  Once you have a think about it though you will see that it is better that they overinvestigated than that they didn't bother and missed a cancer.  Just enjoy being free !!   I'm so pleased for you.

After smoking 30 - 40 fags a day for 30 years I really have dodged the bullet so yes Im stopping smoking on Saturday. Plus Im getting fit so my lung capacity stay good and I need to lose weight for that hernia op.

We had a bottle of champagne all ready for when we got back to either celebrate good news or salute the battle with cancer so either way I was determined to drink it, and after all that I only had a sip lol  ;D

Fleecewife yes you are right I did think last night as least I KNOW I havent got any cancer lurking.

Oh yes Rosemary I certainly will not be reccomending this as a diet tip!  ;)

And well done with the weightloss, not the best way to get it off - worry and stress, but hey, it's a silver lining to boast about  ;)
