Two or three inches here in north Wales.  More higher up - we are about 500ft or so.  Side roads treacherous due to very hard frosts, more like an ice rink than a tarmac surface, but main roads are clear.  Nowhere near as much as other parts of the country I don't think.  But the cold is penetrating.  Everything has frozen up.  Keep taking hot water out to thaw the chickens drinker and the sheep's water buckets. Bedroom windows frozen up, outside taps and outbuilding taps frozen and last night the dog food had frozen up in the tin! Oh and the school bus not running this morning (heaven knows why!!),  See what the rest of the week brings us all.  Keep warm everyone.

Over a foot here now, the snow plough/gritter was past before 8am, but hasn't been back since. Made it into work, though I swear the M9 was in a worse state than the little B road we are on.

Our pigs were supposed to go the abattoir this morning, however we didn't manage that oddly enough!

20 inches and no gritters to be seen, despite promises this summer that it wouldn't happen again. Last winter we had two separate times of 14 days with no buses in our village. We live inside the m25 in a very hilly area. I am very prepared for winter, plenty of animal and human supplies why can't my council buy more grit and a snow plough instead of bad spending.
Enjoying life making the most of whats available. My kids were little yesterday, today they are almost adults, where on earth did that change happen?

Nearly a foot deep here in East Sussex, mental! Been snowing non-stop for the last few hours had about 4 inches now in about 3 hours.
My dream - A smallholding!
