Quick look  IAE  £212 or £280  or £366  other make £ 475 so maybe should have bid 100+ if in good condition . An 8ft is way cheaper per ft the 366 one is only 419 in 8ft , the 212 is 372 in 8ft

They have increased quite a bit in price recently. I bought 2 x 6ft racks for £90
each in a sale a couple of years ago but they’d be £150ish now.

Stuff has gone up loads,
I can't justify paying £100 , I will just carry on feeding it on the floor for now

Can you make your own - we did. Or use a couple of old wheelbarrows depending on the number of sheep. Less wastage than just chucking it on the ground.

The last 2 I bought were £220 + Vat each, that was late 2020. They are a handy size and to buy 2nd hand around here is near impossible.

We had put enough in our budget for the current financial year for 2 small hay hecks.

Prices for agri steel things have literally doubled since Brexit, and I cannot now source a 4' or 6' wheeled hay heck.  The 8' and 10' are too heavy to move on our mud.

Wish I was nearer. [member=27335]vfr400boy[/member], I would be snapping that up!

Put a hurdle, or a piece of weld mesh, across a corner of your field. Or between two fence posts, flush at the bottom and wider at the top but not so wide they can go behind.

Ah, it's a retirement sale.  Lots of items will go for more than market value then, as neighbours will want to buy things they can use as a way of making sure their friend has a good pot of money to see him into his retirement.  Unless he was very unpopular, in which case bargains are still possible, lol.

From every thing said it sounds like buying a hay rack is going to rise in value faster than shares and certainly better than money in a current account  :trophy:
