and a little card that says....

"DON'T PANIC!"

my o/h did, when Geraldine cried out.  I pointed out that he would, if another being was trying to squeeze out of a little hole!  he insisted I called the vet, (I kept saying to wait abit)  but she did it all herself in 40 mins.  Go Girl!

So let your missis stay with her Langdon, its a girl thing  ;)

Richard listed lots of useful things.

We also keep in a stock of porridge oats and treacle, and make mum a gruel straight after she has kidded. A heat lamp might be useful just in case it is cold when the kids are born. By using the heat lamp you can still leave with (or next to) mum, but be sure they will be warm enough.

Don't forget to write the vet's phone number where you can't miss it. Ours is on the barn wall. Also make sure your phone's charged!

No- we make the gruel with the porridge oats. Put some porridge oats into a bowl (a couple of handfuls), cover them in boiling water, then add 2 spoonfuls of treacle (or molasses) and a little salt. Stir it together, then add cold water to make it drinking temperature, and feed to goat. They love it, and it helps to replace fluid, plus the essential of a sugar boost after the strain.
