Hi Everyone!
I run a fb page and instagram page called "Fahran's Feathers"
originally it was to showcase my poultry and what i do with them however its now outgrown the poultry aspect and has become a smallholding page too! Does anyone else use their social media as a platform for showing what you do to others?
I find its a great way to make new friends, share knowledge, post all those cute and not so cute pictures and show the general day to day running of a small farm.
We are about to move from our current small holding of 7 acres here in Darlington to an even larger place in South Wales with 33 acres! We will be expanding our animal family to include sheep and pigs and my chickens obviously but on a larger scale both for eggs and meat and we are looking to do some sort of camping and glamping situation! I'd also like to have a veg plot and/or polytunnel to grow our own food in too!
We are hoping that this next step helps us on our way to becoming more self sustainable and will also fill some freezer space with our own produce
How exciting?!
Really looking forward to our journey and the whole family is coming along for the ride too!

In Scotland we have a Registered Charity for smallholders - Smallholding Scotland. 

It has a website and Facebook page Smallholding.scot

We run an annual Smallholders Festival, with it's own website, ssgf.uk

Perhaps there is an association in Wales for Smallholders?  Smallholding UK began as Smallholding Wales I believe, but it mainly seems to be a place to buy and sell properties

There may be one in England and Northern Ireland too
