just to bring this one back out of interest, did you keep the older ewe Andy, has she produced yet ?
We had one of our older ewes, now 9 have mastitus last year when she had twin lambs so I bottle fed one, he/she was a hermapherdite (sp?) but grew well and went off to slaughter with the others, well the ewe Maudie has just produced a fine stapping ram lamb so all is well, thank goodness ;)

she will lamb in about a month so will have to see what happens and if she has any milk, she is looking good in herself, so hopefully all will be well
