Hello from Oxfordshire!

Hello!

After spending hours on this website reading and re-reading every post available I decided it was time to create my own account and really start to converse with the community about the things we love!

I live in a small village in Oxfordshire surrounded by a beautiful farm that has recently been taken over by a family friend.  We help where we can, taking in the lambs born with difficulties and rehabilitating them so they can live a healthy life back on the farm.

Having never own livestock before this I'm really keen to learn as much as I can to give our animals the best chance they can get and appreciate every piece of knowledge you can give me!  :D

Vic  :)

Hello and welcome Vic - that's an unusual thing to be doing, but valuable to the farmer.  I look forward to hearing how it goes in spring  :hugsheep:

Is your friend experienced or are you all learning together?

Whichever, make notes - there will be a book in your experiences!!  (Or to be more modern, I suppose you could do a blog ;) )
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
