why has my sheep got a continuous sore foot
« on: November 04, 2021, 12:10:53 am »
::)First of I want to say I give my sheep the best care possible and love them to pieces.

I have a ewe 1 year old who has a sore foot for a number of months.

I have clipped the hoof and sprayed several different sprays on it but she is still sore, the hoof is clean and not overgrown I also can't see any form of injury.

Could u guys please advise me on what to do

Thank u

Stop trimming the feet.  Ask advice from your vet.

where is it sore?  Are you sure it is foot not leg?

lame sheep with scauld or foot rot ..........recommended dont trim ......  spray between 'toes'  with terramycin spray (only from vet) and give Alamycin LA inj.
Linda

Don't wrestle with pigs, they will love it and you will just get all muddy.

Let go of who you are and become who you are meant to be.

This plus anti inflammatory. If it’s lame enough to give antibiotics, it needs pain relief too.

Definitely metacam does help enormously.
