Ouessant breeding season
« on: October 09, 2021, 10:01:32 pm »
Hello! First time posting here, but google has completely let me down, sorry for the long post 😁
I bought a Ouessant Ram Lamb in August, ready to service my sole 18month old ewe when she came into season.
They run together all the time along with three wethers but I’ve not seen any signs at all of any romance. I text my rams breeder and he says “ouessants breed all year, I wouldn’t have noticed them getting it on, and she could well be pregnant already”
I did notice a tiny tiny spot of blood on the inside of her tail a few days, and not sure what this might mean.
So my question is do ouessants really breed all year? What might the blood be? It was a drop of sticky blood, definitely from her vagina. Her being pregnant would not be a problem at all, I’d be thrilled!
Any help would be amazing!
