Stockholm tar

Hi all,
We are on our second year of lambing a small flock of 11 ewes. Luckily we didn't loose any lambs to predators last year, but this year we have spotted a fox near by on a couple of occasions. Following advice from previous discussion we have put Stockholm tar on the back of the lambs neck before turning them out into the field with their mums. Do we only need to do this once or should we reapply regularly? Any other advice would be very gratefully received.  Thank you.
