Has anyone had any experience of the papillomavirus in cattle?
I have a 2 and a half year old heifer which I was intending to breed from but has the warts on a couple of her teats.
Will this clear on its own? Can I breed from her? Or is it best not to?
Can cattle be vaccinated against this?

All ours have had warts - females on udders, bull on his muzzle (I didn't ask  ). They're all fine - all fed calves and been milked. No treatment. Vet said they'd go in time and they did.

My original Jersey had the odd wart, as did one of her daughters and one of her daughters.

I just wrote about it on another thread recently

Hillie had the odd wart, Plenty had one.  Never caused us any real problems.  Sometime they might get a bit bloody in summer, with calves suckling and flies pestering.  So then I'd use a pour-on to reduce the flies, and apply a tea tree oil after milking, which mostly stopped it becoming really bothersome.

Kitty (Plenty's daughter) had one as a heifer, which grew and caused the teat end to gape, which resulted in low-grade infection.  So I ruefully decided to not risk putting her in calf.
