Have to admit, I am really pleased with them.
I made a needle holder with 14 widely spaced medium needles and put the fleece upside down onto the floor and needled a layer of unwashed wool onto the back. Then put it into the bath and wet felted it and then, once dry, added an extra layer of needle felted raw wool onto the back so it will still smell a bit sheepy (as I love the way wool smells) and be much tougher.
The small one I could put into the washer on a long hot wash to make it even harder felted as it will get much more use than the big, beside the bed one.
They can both be shaken and beaten hard to clean them and should
last for many years.
The only thing I would do differently is to do a better/harder/thicker layer in the first step but for a first attempt at something this big, yeah, really pleased.
