Looking for a Property in East Ayrshire
« on: May 31, 2020, 02:42:44 pm »
Hi everyone,

We are thinking about buying a house with some land in East Ayrshire. We have been looking at the areas of Kilmarnock, Cumnock and New Cumnock. As we're not originally from the UK, it is hard to know which areas are "good" and which are not so good? I put good in quotes because it is very subjective. Basically our criteria for good, or suitable area would be:

  • Low crime
  • Safe for a family with small children
  • Well connected - trains, easy access, etc
  • area under development, aka not ignored, left to rot

For those who may be familiar with the areas or live there, would you say East Ayrshire and the areas I mentioned fit the bill or should I be looking elsewhere?

Nico
