weight limit on a Massey 135 front loader?
« on: May 12, 2020, 02:35:33 pm »
We have a Massey 135 and I've been contemplating picking up a front loader for it, as having a bucket and bale fork would make some jobs around the farm much easier. However, as it's not got power steering or 4WD, I'm wondering what the weight limit would be on the loader, does anyone happen to know?

Thanks.

Get some weights for the back to prevent the back wheels from lifting off the ground and you can lift more than without.

How do you attach rear weights and do they get in the way of the three point linkage? Hope that's not a daft question but I can't see a way to attach them.

Google tractor rear weight blocks, lots of ideas and pictures there to make your own.

We made ours to attach to the 3 point linkage and it was basically an old oil drum filled with concrete.

done some googling and yes I could build one of those easily enough, thanks very much. Now to keep an eye out for a loader and bucket.

Question is, would it lift a dumpy bag of gravel or a Heston bale of hay/straw. Wouldn't be lifting silage.

When we got our MF35 the seller told me it was good for around 1/2 ton.  The previous owner was moving it on because he'd got something bigger to lift round bales.
