Swollen sheeps Bottom

 ???Hello,

Can anyone tell me what is going on here? Vet reckoned water retention but im not so sure?

Its a Zwartble Ewe not far off lambing in next day or two

You have to be guided by your vet , i have seen something similar twice ,but the whole vulva and fleshy under part of the tail were swollen  both lambed and recovered . on your picture it is difficult to even tell what is what

hiya, yes the whole of the undertail is swollen as well, everything but the vulva really!! not too concerned as vet did say no swelling the the birth canal. more interested than concerned as ive never seen it before!!

I have also seen it in a ewe that had quads! She also looked a little starry eyed, so I assumed it was a bit of high blood pressure and oedema (as it would be in humans). It resolved after the birth. What did your vet say?

Vet reckoned water retention, on reflection as it has gone down i guess he was right!! always trust the vet!!
