Is it ok to use a Brinsea brooder in our agriculture shed.

The instructions say that the room temperature should not drop below 10 degrees however our shed went down to 1 degrees last night.
Has anyone used these brooders outside of their house or am I going to have to use our lambing heat lamp.

The chicks were born at school on Tuesday and now we have them with the school closure, chickens new to us.

Ive always used the Brinsea Brooder in my sheds and have never had a problem, placed in a box out of any draughts, make sure you round out any corners to stop any being jammed in and make sure they are able to exit easily from underneath if it gets too warm.

I don't know the exact set up of the brooder - but make sure rats cannot get at it. WE normally have our chicks in the spare bedroom until they start to smell, and then in the garden shed with the box sitting on an empty cable reel (not a massive one) and it is bigger so extends over the top of the reel. So far not had rats getting in, but we also have a wire mesh dome sitting on top, so no access really.
