Hello from hopeful new smallholders
« on: March 05, 2020, 03:38:53 pm »
 Thanks for setting up this wonderful resource. Have been reading for a few days and have found it very informative.
We are hoping to move to a smallholding in the next few months  :fc: :excited:, so trying to get our heads around what we need to start. It's already registered so that's one less to do but then start thinking about livestock - chickens at first then looking @ sheep. Gradually introduce our collies to them and see if they have the work ethic that earlier ones did.

Cheers

We're currently on the Wirral but looking to move to North Wales. Cold and windy but wasn't hit by the recent floods.

Well we finally made it. Moved in on the 15th December to a rather soggy  :raining: 16 acre Anglesey smallholding. We have a lot of work ahead clearing brambles as it hasn't been worked for several years. Local farmer had been claiming the single payment alongside his land. Doesn't look to have had livestock on but may have used for hay as fields are short. Now back in lockdown due to rates in South Wales.

Wishing all a  :merryxmas: and a better New Year

I'm glad you made it, just in time too.  Say hello to the wonderful beaches of Anglesey for me, and wave at the fast jets  ;D
