I have joined this site to ask about abattoir provision for smallholders in Northern Ireland.
I am not a smallholder, but a researcher, who has been asked to study the role of abattoirs in the red meat supply chain.
My particular focus is the impact of the closure of abattoirs on farmers, of all sizes.
I note that abattoirs in Northern Ireland tend to be large, so I am interested in which abattoirs cater for the private kill market - a service that is more used by smaller farmers, smallholders and crofters.
Any information on which abattoirs offer this service etc in NI would be most welcome.
