pecking order

morning all..  just wondering how long it takes for new hens added with the old ones to settle down together...  the older ones just keep on at the new ones all the time...  they have been together 3 days so far with no let up...  they seem to be ok when there all in there house....

Could take a week or so. Make sure the new girls have somewhere to escape to.

I put my two young light sussex chicks in with their Mum (who they didn't know ::)) and my ex batts - Scraggie Aggie who I am sure you will all remember, now has a full set of feathers and is twice the size she used to be - and she is the biggest bully out.  They were 10 days before she'd let them alone and even now she will have a go 4 weeks later if they are eating the particular pellet that she wants! ;D
