We planted quite alot of marigolds with our tomatoes.

Now we have cropped the tomatoes, the marigolds are still looking rather splendid but we need to clear the polytunnel in preparation for winter and next year.

What shall we do with the marigolds?

Can I take them out of the ground and transplant them into pots over winter?

Will they survive winter in pots?

I believe they would do fine in pots in the house.

They'll be fine in pots that's what I've done with mine. The only issue with pots is susceptibility to freezing if outside which can damage the roots and reduce the amount of water available to the plant. Either move them inside or cover them with fleece/ bubble wrap around the pots. Grouping pots together helps as well, makes a little micro climate.
