Hello!

I found this site when I was looking for info and advice on smallholdings and it looks a great place for it so I joined.

I want to purchase a little land, it'll be very small because I've very little money, I live in London and rents are high I own no property and never will the way things are going here, after bill's and everything I've nothing left. I've decided to make a change and will buy land near a town and put a mobile home on it to live in, then I can work and save money to hopefully build a house.

That was the plan till I found out I couldn't do that even though I would legally own the land? :-\

But further research into the idea I found out if I put the land to use I could? I'll be posting specific questions in their areas soon! Thank you!

Ever thought about living in a community?  Quite a few of them about now, including some nearer London than mine (we're in North Cornwall.).  Pooled resources... ;)
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

Hello and welcome to TAS springbeans.  I like your name - it conjures up green, and fresh veggies and hope for the coming year.  Good luck with getting some land  :garden: :hughen:

Hi and welcome Springbeans, I like your name as well, I like to think of you with a spring in your step  :D .
Planning laws may seem unfair, but if everybody could just put up buildings or mobile homes everywhere, it wouldn't be good would it?
Hope you get your move soon, Sally's idea seems a gòd start..
