I am thinking of changing incubators, has anyone used R-Com or Hova-Bator, and what do you think of them.  I haven't even seen one in reality, so all input will be useful, as any other incubator thoughts

I used to have an Brinsea Octagon 20, I found the hatch rate quite low so wouldn't recommend those.

I replaced it with this one (ME3A Maino Incubator, 50 egg) and have had very good results from it:

I have an R-com and while I have had some success with it I would not recomend it. Humidity is hard to get right, I have had to recalibrate it a couple of times recently, it needs a sponge which costs around £20 for 3 inc postage and I have found that they only last one incubation.

iv used all the incubaters and  i would get  the Corti 50 Full Auto Incubator
The Corti 50 Incubators are easy to use and ideal for smallholders/hobbyists.

These machines are Fan assisted to ensure even temperature is maintained throughout the Incubator. The temperature is viewed through the top of the incubator on an easy to read thermometer.
Humidity is controlled by two internal water trays situated in the base of the Incubator.
This automatic version comes complete with an auto turning device.
Adjustable egg dividers are provided.
This incubator can also be used as a hatcher, simply remove the egg dividers three days before the hatch is due and top up the water reservoirs as required.
Approx egg capacity .this will work with out fuss .the humidatey is not important at the moment very damp mornings .get some eggs and have a go with 1 off these .i hatch a lot off eggs some schools have eggs and they dont fail with 1 off these

Hi and thanks for that.  Are these easy to clean out after hatching in them.  I worry whether the fans on these fan assisted models harbour any bacteria.  Can this be a problem, and if so is it easily solved?

iff you hatch in a nother hova bater you can go on for a month or more its hatching that makes the problem .then i jet wash the hova bater or put a nother bottom in it and thats it .just remember to take the eggs out at the  last  3 days
