Ryeland ewe losing hair on ears

Hi all,

I have a 4 year old in lamb ryeland ewe who has lost all the hair on her ears. The skin isn't red or dry looking and has no lesions, it's just bald!

I was wondering if she could be rubbing it off in the feed bucket or hay ring? My Shetlands have no signs of the ear problem, but a couple of the woolier ewes have ruffed up around their necks from the ring feeder. I'm wondering if because my ryeland has such a square head it's her ears that are getting it??

Has anyone had anything similar?

They are coming in for lambing this weekend, so I'm thinking I will isolate her just in case it's something fungal, and maybe use some sudocreme in case of mites?

Thanks
