Moving to UK
« on: October 09, 2010, 05:22:58 am »
Good Evening
We are soon to be returning to UK after having spent 3 years working in BC, Canada. Area will be dependent on work availability although we will be looking for some land to continue with our vision of having a small holding. Our eldest son has just spent 9 months on an internship in Oregon working with a 100 acre rotational pasture based poultry and pig farm. He has spent time with Joel Salatin at Polyface in Virginia exploring opportunities to get into farming.

We're looking forward to connecting with and imputing into this forum, and of course asking lots of questions.

Hi and welcome from brilliantly sunny Carnoustie  Actually, it's damp and mild, but I was going to say "come to Scotland" and thought sunny might be more attractive!

We've just moved to Angus and we love it - slower pace of life than the central belt. You'll get more bangs for your bucks than in much of England plus glorious scenery, lovely people  :-* and possibly a referendum on independence!!

Heloooo!

Agree that if you loved BC you really need Scotland or Wales, but maybe Scotland if you skied in BC. I live 30 mins from the ski lifts!

Hello and welcome from southern Scotland.  It's good to hear of someone returning to Britain rather than heading off. The scale will be smaller than in BC of course.

Hi, we "emigrated" from England 4 years ago and love it here in Scotland, even the cooler weather suits me, I love the open space yet the diversity of the central belt!!!
