We are impatiently awaiting the arrival of our lambs.

We had twin lambs on Saturday afternoon ( a boy & a girl)

Our Texel wondered off on her own into one of the top fields & was visibly in labour

After 20 mins of pushing only the feet were visible & she was tiring so we brought her ( reluctantly down to the small shack)

My husband delivered a decent sized ram lamb & then 15 mins later his much smaller sister

We were very thankful that this was a daytime birth as she couldnt have managed on her own

All are doing well

Now were are just waiting on the others- one looks about to pop!!

Mine aren't due until after March 20th, I can't wait! Roy the farmer was asking when we wanted to put the ram in next year but I want to see how we go with this lot first.

Nice and informative but new lamber please don't dip the umbilical cord into the bottle of iodine and possibly spread infection, as the photo shows.
Pour a little into a small pot, and throw away any after use (NOT back into the bottle). Good luck with lambing

My OH had a flock of sheep he 'lambed' many, many years ago but has the confidence that I am currently lacking.

We have 36 ewes, most of which seem to be pregnant and are due to lamb during the fist two weeks in April - I have organised a holiday from work.

Searching 'lambing' on YouTube gets some good results - makes it look so easy $:-\$

I also downloaded a great guide to lambing - it was so helpful - I will dig out the link.

Yes I do...........though the new improved version is not on the machine yet!!!
Also available to run lambing courses and we have our own lambing course here on the Blackdowns in Feb..........will post details as soon as we have a date. We have organised it for the past 2 years aimed specifically at smallholders rather than large farmers with loads of kit!!
