I imagine once they get used to tape any would do.  As long as it has their respect.

Thankyou for the reply...the pigs are fine with the tape...its more of a game to them!!
I should have explained the question properly, would a horses weigh tape give a approx accurate weight?
my pigs are ranging from 70 to 84 kg...(they are british lop x berkshire) and 20 wks old,
does this sound about right, using this tape? Thankyou in advance

Hilary will be putting her mum in a home soon :D

If you want a rough comparison use a normal tape measure and use the following calculation

Girth(inches) x Girth x Length (inches) divided by 400 = weight of pig in pounds

Girth is at shoulder point
Length is from between ears to base of tail

an example girth 30 inches,length 40 inches

Girth 30 inch x Girth 30 inch x Length 40 inch = 36,000
36,000 divided by 400 = 90lbs (weight of pig in pounds)

If you want Kilos, then move abroad !! (or divide by 2.2)

Let us know how it compares !

I've already planned that as method of disposal when I do go - much cheaper than a funeral -
