GOS Boar wanted for hire - Gilt to lodge
« on: September 21, 2010, 03:24:38 pm »
Posted in Pigs but thought it was better in here...

My attempts to AI my second GOS gilt have not worked, 3 attempts and still no joy which is costing me an arm and a leg!!!  I've gone through the options and I wish to give her one last chance at having a litter and need to explore getting her to a boar that is reasonably close before we make her into sausages!

I'd rather take her for a holiday, and the suitable Sire doesn't have to be pedigree or registered as she is neither.  We're near to Wincanton so, if you have a boar for hire and willing to take on a lodger for 4 weeks please PM me!!!

Did you find a suitable boar? I have a young friendly GOS boar, who has just begun his working life. He is not registered but comes from good stock which I can follow back several generations. He has just produced a litter of 9 good strong piglets with our own maiden sow and has been hired out successfully once as well. We have suitable lodgings for paying guests interested in his services. We are South of Bristol so you would be able to come up through Shepton Mallet fairly easily. Just let me know.
